Los Flacos in Concert!
Folk music returns to Yakima Valley Museum on Friday, February 15, when we welcome Los Flacos to the Great Hall stage. This unique ensemble plays the spiciest traditional music from Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Columbia, Peru, and many other Latin American countries. The quartet plays a variety of instruments, some indigenous to the Americas and others of European and African origin, such as the cuatro, quinta, quena, zampona, tarima, violin, and the Venezuelan harp. As a special treat, the group will be joined by a traditional dancer for their Yakima performance.
This rare concert is funded in part by Northwest Heritage Resources, ArtsWA, and the National Endowment for the Arts and, because of this generous support, tickets for the concert will be only $5 (although additional donations will be greatly appreciated).
The museum is partnering with the Yakima Folklife Association to present this concert, which is sure to entertain and amaze. Doors open at 7:00 P.M., and the performance will begin at 7:30. General admission tickets will be available at the door, but you may want to guarantee a seat to this special bargain concert by stopping by the museum to get yours in advance. See you there!
