VISIT
In the heart of central Washington state, the Yakima Valley Museum houses an extensive collection of artifacts dating from prehistoric times to the present. The museum offers both permanent exhibits and changing special exhibits. You will always find something new to see!
VIEW
Stroll in a neon garden, touch a 15 million-year-old tree, or imagine life as an apple picker. Get up close to a stagecoach or steam fire engine. Look inside a Victorian dining room and a pioneer cabin. Listen to stories of local immigrant families or examine the tusk of a Columbian mammoth.
INDULGE
Enjoy an ice cream treat or have lunch in the Museum Soda Fountain, a working exhibit inspired by a late 1930s soda fountain. Browse through the Museum Shop and find the perfect souvenir of your visit, or unique gifts.
PLAY
The Children’s Underground offers children of all ages a chance to learn about local history. Dress up in clothes from an earlier time, then play in a child-size version of early Yakima City. Climb into a 19th century pony cart. Stroke the pelts of local wildlife, and visit the river fish and turtles in their habitat aquariums.
