This dress, with its hip-length jacket and knee-high plastic boots, is quite a contrast from the other wedding dresses displayed in this section. Mary Quant, an English designer, popularized the mini dress in 1960's. Yves St. Laurent introduced high boots in 1963. It was, thus, the height of fashion when worn by the donor at her 1970 wedding.
