Oyster Silk Wedding Dress
1874
Gift of Mrs. J. Flanary

This elaborate two-piece dress, with its ruffles, piping, bustle, and long train, was the wedding dress of Flora Collier (Mrs. F. C. Hall). Appropriate jewelry that could have been worn at this period included earrings, pins or necklaces featuring flies and beetles, painted porcelain lockets, and crosses in onyx and jet.
