Dressed for Success

Woman's Gray Flannel Suit
1892
Gift of Dan McDonald

The gray suit, worn by the mother of the donor, is doublebreasted, has 107 incised metal buttons, and features lapels decorated with embroidered and appliqued silk. Hats of the same period would be large with soft full crowns. Stockings were silk and often elaborately embroidered.
