Diamond Jubilee Dress
Yellow Check Dress
Diamond Jubilee, 1960
Gift of Jane Kendall

Dress is cotton with machine lace at the neck and bodice, which is secured with three buttons. There is a ruffle at mid-calf, and the dress ties in the back. The matching gathered cap is decorated with machine lace.

The dress was made by Dorothy Korn for her daughter Jane Kendall. Note the similarity of the this dress to the one made 25 years earlier for the 1935 Golden Jubilee.

"Beginning today, Yakima will have eight days jam-packed with activities to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee. Here is a full program of events that are being offered for the entertainment and enjoyment of all taking part in the city's 75th anniversary."
