When you think Yakima, you think apples. ...but our valley was not always apple country.
Yakima Valley’s history—its very identity—is associated with the apple. The apple industry brought many of our ancestors—and many of us—to the Yakima Valley. There are over 78,000 acres of Yakima Valley apple orchard. Apples are the core of our economy.
What are the roots of Yakima's apple industry? How does an apple make its journey from seed to store? How has Yakima become synonymous with Apples?
